Blue Steps along the Saffron Trail

I joined the project Blue Steps along the Saffron Trail as Mapper and Spatial Researcher from January–April 2026. Led by artist Lora Aziz, the project re-walks, re-routes, re-records and re-stories the Saffron Trail, a 71-mile trail in Essex which runs from Saffron Walden to Southend-on-Sea. My maps acted as research tools, recording our observations along the way and drawing connections between water, land and the human and more-than-human beings living along the trail.
